Jackson began a solo career in 1971. He gradually came to acquire the name ‘the King of Pop.’ His albums Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995) became some of the world’s best-selling ones. He has by any standard been a dominant figure in popular music for over twenty years. He is in fact the first African American entertainer on MTV to amass a strong following. I am a Michael Jackson fan and was thrilled when I saw this at the store. I read it and read it but there was really nothing new for me. Some of the info isn't correct (like someone else said, the dates aren't right sometimes). It is clearly for the non-fan who isn't familiar with Michael Jackson at all. -
